"What steps, if any, is the team taking to screen clients for symptoms of COVID19?"
Here is a quick summary of survey responses related to this topic (emphasis added by me):
- Reviewing symptoms and calling medical offices as needed
- Asking about fever, new onset cough, if they have been around people that have been diagnosed w COVID19.
- CDC questionnaire
- Sharing local government flyers educating consumers on symptoms, normalizing and asking questions before and during all interactions
- Phone contacts before visits to inquire about symptoms. Providing education about symptoms. Temperature checks for clients
- Taking temperatures regularly, checking in around health symptoms
- Asking them about temperature, cough, and shortness of breath at each contact.
- We are screening telephonically for fever, respiratory symptoms, exposure to individuals with the same. If screened positive, link to PCP /health department. If can reach client by telephone, screening at home while maintaining 6 foot distance
- Giving staff a list of symptoms and questions to ask before contact is made in person.
- Information re screening for self and clients distributed in English and Spanish. If client is symptomatic/has had contact, the actual need for visit is assessed and adaptations made. Relationship with pharmacies (2 specifically) will support direct delivery of meds if necessary
- Staff are completing symptom check sheets with clients each time they are seen.
- None yet, waiting for leadership to give us the go ahead on screening. However we do have a client that just returned from a cruise and we will not see them for 2 weeks
- Prior to visits calling member asking screening questions. If positive answers will see patient with social distancing and N95 mask and gloves. If unable to get patient by phone visit will start with these screening questions
- Practice hand washing with them, how to cough and sneeze and where to dispose of tissues. Observe for coughing runny nose and complaints of fevers
