Survey Question
What is the current status of COVID19 in your area as you complete this survey? (e.g., state of emergency; local schools are now shut down)
Here is a quick summary of survey responses related to this topic (emphasis added by me):
- Kansas city just declare a state of emergency, not gatherings of more than 1000 people, schools are discussing closing
- local schools are shut down, no confirmed positive tests in our town at this time but many reporting symptoms. There is a lack of available tests.
- Our governor declared a state of emergency yesterday and the closest confirmed case is a County away (but very close)
- State emergency, all schools closed throughout state, restaurants/bars shut down
- All schools in WI are closed, anticipated that bars and restaurants will go to pick up only, 33 cases in WI so far (1 in Racine County). Steve of emergency declared last week.
- State of Louisiana declared state of emergency. 33 confirmed cases in the state. Major events canceled.
- District of Columbia schools are closed.
- Our city of St. Louis has declared a state of emergency
- Obviously schools and day cares are shut down. Most grocery stores and restaurants are closing early. Most MD offices are rescheduling anyone who is symptomatic. CCNC is not doing home visits, housing authority is closing common rooms .
- State of Emergency. All universities, and schools are closed but providing virtual education. Curfew in most areas. No toilet paper! None!
- 1 confirmed positive case in Watauga County. Same as state. Court system has shut down for one month.
- As of 3/12 at 9 pm, the DC Metro area has been affected greatly. There have been at least two positive cases in Arlington Co (where I work). Where I live, in Montgomery County MD, there have been more cases.
- Nursing homes and assisted living closed to visitors. Local Technical College is currently on Spring Break, but break is being extended an additional week. Sioux Falls, which is just outside our area has declared a state of emergency and banned any groups greater than 250 people in public venues, but not schools yet. We don't have a confirmed case by CDC, but I'm sure it's because we don't have tests.
- 3 confirmed cases in our state 2 of those in our county, both had traveled to Italy one has since recovered
- All local schools will be officially shut down as of Tuesday, March 17th and there have been quite a few individuals testing positive in the Council Bluffs / Omaha metro area. I don't know the exact number of infected people.
- Peace of emergency Gov Walz (Minn) school will be cancelled for 2 weeks just announced as of 1pm today 35 cases in MN and first community spread in the last 3 diagnosed
